Nature plays an essential role at Golf Bastide de la Salette, a veritable green oasis in the heart of the Marseille hills.
To highlight this richness and encourage everyone to admire the wildlife that coexists with our courses, the club and the Sports Association are officially launching their major photo contest, “Regards sur la faune” (Views of Wildlife), open to all members, adults and children alike.
This year-long contest aims to reveal the most beautiful scenes of wildlife on the 18-hole golf course in Marseille.
The Marseille golf course where biodiversity flourishes
Between scrubland, pine forests, and open plains, the Bastide de la Salette Golf Course is home to exceptional biodiversity: lively squirrels, majestic herons, peaceful mallards, doves, butterflies, lizards, and sometimes even more surprising visitors.
As players, you encounter these discreet companions every day, a sign of a healthy, protected, and respected environment.
The competition is based on the biodiversity panels placed throughout the course, which serve as mini-guides to help identify the endemic species that have made La Salette their home. It’s a wonderful invitation to look up, slow down, and observe nature in a different way.

A creative adventure in the service of nature
Golf is much more than a sport: it is an immersion in nature.
At Golf Bastide de la Salette, playing golf means walking peacefully, contemplating the hills of Marseille, listening to the wind in the pines… and sometimes spotting a squirrel darting across the edge of a fairway.
This competition aims to strengthen the bond between players and the ecosystem that surrounds them, while reminding them how important it is to protect this exceptional natural environment.
