At Golf Bastide de la Salette, nestled in the green hills of Marseille, every day is a celebration of nature, sharing, and conviviality.
On October 3rd, a beautiful moment of sharing and emotion took place on the course and marked the life of the club: under a beautiful autumn sun, Mr. Sarrail, a loyal and passionate member of the club, released four partridges and three pheasants on the course, under the watchful eye and with the approval of the site director, Daniel Scaravonati.
A seemingly simple gesture, but one that carries a powerful message: that of respect for nature, solidarity, and the family spirit that animates the community of Golf Bastide de la Salette.
A concrete step towards biodiversity
This release of birds is part of our approach to preserving biodiversity and managing natural spaces in a sustainable manner.
The Golf Bastide de la Salette offers an ideal setting and a true refuge: a preserved environment, between pine forests and scrubland, where flora and fauna coexist in harmony with players. Our team works every day to maintain this balance between nature and play, with particular attention paid to protected natural areas.
The partridges and pheasants released by Mr. Sarrail help to strengthen the local biodiversity that is so dear to our Marseille identity.
Since their release, some pheasants have been spotted around hole No. 9.
If you are lucky enough to come across them during your game, take the opportunity to observe them discreetly—a rare and poetic moment in the heart of the golf course.
Family spirit at the heart of the club
Mr. Sarrail’s story perfectly illustrates what makes Golf Bastide de la Salette so special: the sincere involvement of its members.
Here, everyone contributes in their own way to bringing the place to life: by participating in charitable activities, supporting local initiatives, or simply sharing their passion for golf in a friendly, family atmosphere.
This strong human connection is the club’s true hallmark. A family spirit that is evident both on the greens and in moments of conversation in the restaurant, over coffee or a meal with fellow golfers.
It is this combination of enjoyment of the game, team spirit, and respect for life that makes Golf Bastide de la Salette a unique place in Marseille, where nature and sport come together with passion.
A place for living, engagement, and conviviality
Beyond the ecological gesture, Mr. Sarrail’s action reminds us that nature is an integral part of golf.
It accompanies us with every swing, every breath, every glance at the landscape. And when humans act with kindness, nature knows how to repay them.
Our members don’t just play: they actively participate in club life and site preservation.
Thank you to Mr. Sarrail for this wonderful initiative, and to all those who contribute to bringing the spirit of Golf Bastide de la Salette to life every day—a golf course where friendliness, respect, and authenticity are more than just values: they are a true way of life.
A symbol of balance and the future
By choosing to release these partridges and pheasants on the site, Mr. Sarrail is offering much more than a gift to nature: he is reminding us all of the importance of preserving the fragile balance that surrounds us.
The Golf Bastide de la Salette aims to be a committed player, a place where the pleasure of the game goes hand in hand with preserving the environment and sharing human values.
This emotional moment resonated like a promise: to continue to make golf a space where nature and people live in harmony, with respect and beauty of movement.
